THE WACO TAPES

By Julian Cividanes

In 1993, the city of Waco, Texas was the site of a siege between the FBI and the "religious group" known as the Branch Davidians.

Over the course of 51 days, the Branch Davidians and the FBI conducted negotiations over the phone in an attempt to end the standoff.

With a script crafted entirely from hundreds of hours of these negotiation transcripts, The Waco Tapes imagines the infamous siege as a two-hander thriller between Agent F, a determined law enforcement agent, and the manipulative leader of the Branch Davidians - David Koresh.

As the two of them forge a dangerous bond in hopes of preventing a potential massacre, the confrontation escalates to a tragic conclusion that asks the question “how did this happen - and what, if anything, could have been done to stop it?”

The Waco Tapes originally premiered at The Vino Theater in December 2024. It starred Brason Jones as David Koresh and Julian Cividanes as Agent F, with direction by Aaron Bryce and scenic design by Jonathan Schatzberg.
